My Birthday and a Freebie

Hi everyone it is my birthday today and I'm 29, OMG only one more year til I'm 30 argh! lol!

So I have decided to give you all a little freebie it is an add-on to Pam's (Digtreats) Giggle kit.

I made the frame I did for this layout so I decided to make them for Giggle, Smirk and Shout!

P365 update and a layout

Hi everyone I am a bit behind in scrapping my project 365 pics, but I have been taking them.

I will try and catch up soon, but it is half term so the boys have been off school and play school.

It was my oldest son Callum's 7th birthday on Saturday (Valentines Day).

Just Layouts

Hi everyone I have just got a two layouts to show you.

This first layout is of my boys playing with their Thomas train set. It is about the only time they play nicely together.

I have used Stacey's (Stacey's Scraps) "My Guy" kit and My First Template.

This second layout is of my boys playing with one of there Christmas presents the Bubble Buster Game. They had so much fun and it a pretty good bubble machine as well.

Just A Layout

I hope you've all had a good weekend. Just thought I'd show you a layout that I have using pictures of my son Callum playing with one of his Christmas presents.

I know he will hate me for this layout when he's older but I had to do it.

He had seen this cupcake maker advertised on the TV (kids channels shouldn't have toy adverts) And he kept going on about. It got nearer and nearer to Christmas and he still wanted one so I put it on a list that I gave to his Auntie but she refused to buy it because it was too girly.

Any way it was about three weeks before Christmas and as you do when they are naughty I threatened that Father Christmas wouldn't bring him any toys, just an orange and a piece of coal. His reply was as long as I get a Nintendo DS, a WALL-E DVD and a cupcake maker he didn't care what else he got. I sat him down and said to him that it was very girly and it was called Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker and did he still want one, he said he didn't care whether it was girly. So Father Christmas bought him one.

So here is a layout of his first attempt of making a cupcake with it and it didn't go to well.

I have used paper from Vicki's Candy Dream kit,

journaling mat and brackets from Sara's (Sweet Blossom Designs) Candy Dream Add-on

and cupcakes (which I recoloured) from Digi-Designs by Nicole's Celebrate kit.

Just some layouts

First up I have a layout using my "Bath Time" kit.

I have used a template by Moriginals

Next is a layout using Vicki's kit "Merry Mistletoe" and Chere Nordstrand add-on for Scrap N' Art.

For this layout I have used Vicki's Scrap N Art friday freebie kit "Halloween Sream"

Next are to layouts I have done using Sara's (Sweet Blossom Designs) kit "Boys Club"

My two boys love their grandad (my dad) and when he comes round to do some diy or gardening for me they love to try and help out. Most things like drills, tools and lawnmowers that grandad uses they have a toy version of and they always trying to be like their grandad.

I Guess This Is My First Tutorial

This little tutorial is for Jess she wanted to know how I put the photo on the background.

I use Photoshop Elements 4 for my layouts.

First you take a paper of your choice and drag it into your new blank file. I used one from Vicki's "Breakfast At Tiffany's".

You can do it with out a background behind the photo, but I prefer the effect it gives.

Then you find the photo you want to use on the background and drag it onto the paper(making sure it's on a new layer.

Next you resize (making sure you maintain aspect ratio) it so it covers the whole of the paper and position it so you've got the main subject where you want them. I position mine just slightly of center and make sure I have room for the embellishments and title.

Now change the opacity of the photo (so it blends in with the background paper) until you are happy with the effect. I changed my opacity to 60%.

If you are completely happy with the position and opacity of the photo I sometimes fine it easier to merge your layers at this point.

Finish off by adding your embellishments, title etc.

I have also done this with another layout if you scroll done to labels on the left hand side and click on layouts and scroll down til you see the layout.

Some Layouts And A New Addition To Our Little Family

After Loosing every thing on my hard drive I was a bit disheartened because I lost a lot of my digi scrap kits that I had downloaded and a months worth of photos, which luckily wasn't too many. But now I am back on track and raring to go. So firstly I would like to show you two layouts that I have done.

For this layout I have used "The Great Outdoors" papers, "Summer Garden" and "The Great Outdoors" embellishments and "The Great Outdoors" Alpha all by Vicki A Work In Progress

For this layout I have also used kits by Vicki A Work In Progress. I used her "Earthtones" papers, "Fired Earth" and "Earthtones" embellishments and "Fired Earth" alpha

Secondly I would like to introduce my new little baby Sammy. he is about two and a half he's a bit of a pickle but he better behaved than my two boys at the moment. Unfortunately he does like to chew any thing plastic. he has also had my washing off the line a few times as well but luckily he has stopped that now. I've had him about a month and we already been through 4 baby bottles. My youngest son Alex likes milk in the morning and before bed but he has to have it in a baby bottle (I've tried all sorts of big boys cups but he won't drink his milk out of them) and if he leaves them lying around on the floor the dog picks them up and before you know it he's chewed it. Anyway here is a picture of him which was very difficult to get as he was very interested in the camera.

My Favorite Layout

This is one of my favourite layouts at the moment,

the photo's are natural and not posed for.

I used Vicki's "Summer Garden" kit and "Rustic Alpha" from her blog.

I used the green patterned paper behind the large photo and changed the photos opacity until I was happy with the effect.

I felt that having the paper behind the photo gave a better effect than just having the photo on it's own.
